SMS Messaging Terms and Conditions
Last updated: August 4, 2026
These SMS Messaging Terms and Conditions ("SMS Terms") govern your use of the SMS text messaging service provided by National NonProfit Network ("we," "us," or "our"). By opting into our SMS program, you agree to these SMS Terms in addition to our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.
1. Opt-In and Consent
When you sign up for event alerts and select "Text" or "Both" as your notification method, you are opting into our SMS program and consenting to receive text messages from National NonProfit Network. You acknowledge that providing your phone number constitutes your express written consent to receive automated text messages at the number you provide.
You must be the owner of the phone number you provide and be authorized to consent to receive messages at that number. If you are under 18, you must have your parent or legal guardian's permission to opt in.
2. Message Types
You will receive the following types of messages through our SMS program:
- Event alerts: Notifications about new volunteer opportunities and events posted near your ZIP code, within your selected radius.
- Event reminders: Reminders about events you have registered for or volunteered at.
- Account-related messages: Confirmation of your subscription and any changes to your alert preferences.
Message frequency varies based on event activity in your area and your notification preferences. Typically, you can expect no more than 5 messages per month, though this may vary during periods of high event activity.
3. Message and Data Rates
Standard message and data rates may apply to messages you receive from us, depending on your wireless carrier's pricing plan. You are responsible for any charges imposed by your carrier. Check with your carrier for details on your specific messaging plan.
4. How to Opt Out
You can cancel your SMS subscription at any time using any of the following methods:
- Reply STOP: Reply "STOP" to any message you receive from us. You will be unsubscribed and will receive a confirmation message.
- Manage Your Alerts: Use the "Manage Your Alerts" feature on our Platform to edit or cancel your subscription.
- Contact us: Reach out through the contact information available on our Platform.
After opting out, you will receive one final confirmation message. No further messages will be sent unless you re-subscribe.
5. How to Get Help
If you have questions about our SMS program, you can:
- Reply "HELP" to any message you receive from us for support information.
- Use the "Manage Your Alerts" feature on our Platform.
- Contact us through the contact information available on our Platform.
6. Carrier Support
Our SMS service is supported by the following wireless carriers in the United States: AT&T, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, Sprint, US Cellular, and other major carriers. Not all carriers may be supported. If you experience issues receiving messages, contact your carrier to confirm that short code or long code messaging is enabled on your plan.
7. Phone Number Changes
If your phone number changes, you must update your subscription through the "Manage Your Alerts" feature. We are not responsible for messages sent to a number that is no longer yours. If you lose your phone or change your number, please update or cancel your subscription to prevent unauthorized access to your alerts.
8. Privacy
We use the phone number you provide solely to send you event alerts and related notifications. We do not share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your personal information.
9. No Warranties
Our SMS service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that messages will be delivered timely, accurately, or at all. Delivery is subject to your carrier's network availability and technical limitations.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, National NonProfit Network shall not be liable for any damages, including message delays, non-delivery, or carrier-related issues, arising from your use of the SMS service.
11. Changes to These SMS Terms
We may update these SMS Terms from time to time. We will post the updated terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Your continued participation in the SMS program after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
